General Information about Tungsten

Tungsten has the elemental symbol "W" and an atomic number of 74. It has the highest melting point of all elemental metals (3422±15°C) and 5700±200°C of boiling point. It is also among the heaviest metals features the lowest vapour pressure of all metals, very high module of compression and elasticity, very high thermal creep resistance and high thermal and electrical conductivity.

 

Ferro Tungsten (FeW) is a major alloy for the production of tungsten-containing steels. It is mainly used in the high speed steel (HSS) industry. The raw materials for Ferro Tungsten production are rich concentrate of Wolfram or Scheelite.
